Client Accountant (Semi-Senior)
Location: Woodford Green, Essex (Office-based)
Employment Basis: Full-time, Permanent

Nicholas Hall is a progressive and well-respected accounting practice established in 1983. Based in Woodford Green, we are proud to remain independent while supporting individuals and businesses with their accounting and tax affairs.
We are now seeking a Client Accountant (Semi-Senior) to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Director, support a diverse client base, and develop your career through study support and hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Limited Company and LLP financial statements
Prepare Corporation Tax Returns
Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts
Prepare VAT returns and payrolls
Deliver Company Secretarial services (board minutes, dividends, changes of details)
Assist with ad hoc special assignments
Support and train junior team members
Work closely with the Director on client engagements
About You
AAT qualified and/or at least 4 years’ experience in practice
Skilled in managing client relationships
Working knowledge of Xero, Moneysoft Payroll Manager, and CCH
Strong IT and Excel skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Detail-oriented, proactive, and professional

Head of Payroll (Part-Time)
Location: Flexible – Onsite or Fully Remote
Hours: Approx. 10–30 per month

We are seeking an experienced Head of Payroll to oversee payroll services for a diverse portfolio of small businesses. This role is ideal for a CIPP-qualified professional or someone with strong payroll expertise who thrives in a flexible, part-time position.
Key Responsibilities
Manage monthly and annual payrolls across multiple clients
Handle director-only and larger, multi-staff payrolls
Calculate hourly pay, holiday pay, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
Administer workplace pension schemes
Ensure full compliance with payroll legislation and reporting requirements
Preparation of P11Ds/payrolled benefits
Keeping track of & claiming CIS tax suffered using monthly payment and deduction statements
Preparation of monthly CIS subcontractor returns
About You
CIPP qualified (or equivalent experience)
Hands-on experience using Xero and Moneysoft Payroll Manager
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
Able to manage deadlines across multiple clients
Strong communicator with a client-focused approach
Comfortable working independently, either onsite or remotely
